Protective gear is very important for those skaters returning to roller skating after decades. The most important things to protect are your head and your wrists. Wrist guards are inexpensive wat to protect your hands. Roller skating helmets are either not certified or certified by the CPSC. The CPSC requires a helmet to have specific requirements to reduce the direct impact and displace the force to minimize injury. All children should wear a CPSC approved helmet.
